Mark your calendar and join us for some after school fall fun! The Southwood PTO will be hosting a Fall Festival from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 29th. The entrance fee is $5.00 and all games are free! We will also have a concession stand where we'll be selling a variety of snacks. Haunted house tickets will be $2.00 each and hay ride tickets will also be $2.00 each. Don't miss out!

We're so proud of our Southwood Principal's Pearls for leading the Pledge of Allegiance during the opening of yesterday's Pine Bluff City Council Meeting! 💦 21st CCLC EARLY DISMISSAL NOTICE! 💦
PBSD 21st CCLC families, please mark your calendars! 📅
⏰ Monday, September 28, 2026, our 21st CCLC program will dismiss early at 5:30 p.m.
🚗 All scholars who are picked up by a parent/guardian must be picked up no later than 5:30 p.m. Please make the necessary arrangements for the earlier dismissal.
🚌 Transportation arrangements are also being coordinated for our scholars who are approved 21st CCLC bus riders.
🥪 Scholars will receive a sacked dinner to take home before dismissal.

Please ensure that your child gets plenty of rest each night and arrives to school on time. Most of all, please encourage them to do their absolute BEST work and SHOW what they KNOW! 😁🧠🐯💙💛

Southwood is teaming up with Forrest Park Greenville to celebrate 9 to 5 Day in honor of Dolly Parton on Friday, September 25th (9/25)! We will have Western-themed learning, fun activities, snacks and more! Students may dress to shine in their Western wear such as denim, boots, plaid, rhinestones, and cowboy hats. Please, no toy guns. Thank you! 🐯💙💛
Also, did you know that Dolly Parton created a program called Dolly Parton's Imagination Library? This program is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners. Each month, a free book will be mailed to the registered address for the child. To register your child for this free program, click here.

A special shout out goes out to the attendees of our recent ATLAS meetings for parents of 3rd grade students. We appreciate your support and partnership! Our Principal, Dr. Paula Watson, presented information about the ATLAS assessments and where parents may log in to see their child's ATLAS scores. She also gave important information about reading support and interventions that are provided in-class and during W.I.N. (What I Need) time, as well as details about Arkansas’ 3rd grade promotion requirements.
