Free Community Event: The little ones have their OWN spot at UAPB's upcoming Juneteenth in the Bluff Arts & Culture Festival! The Kids Zone is back and BETTER than ever — packed with fun activities, games, and memories your kids will be talking about all summer long. Bring the whole family out June 19th to 3rd & Main St. in the Delta Rhythm & Bayous Cultural District in Pine Bluff. It's a celebration for EVERYONE! Southwood Elementary School and Southwood Elementary PTO will host Fun Day for Southwood Scholars on Friday, May 29, 2026. This event will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. There will be lots of fun & games and free hot dogs, chips, and drinks for scholars. There will also be a PTO fundraiser of nachos and a drink for $5.00.
Register your younger children, ages 0-5 years old, for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Each child registered will receive a free book, mailed to them, each month. What a great way to nurture a love of reading and add to or build a book collection at home!

Attention Southwood Families: There has been a change to our ATLAS testing schedule for our 1st & 2nd grade students. Students in both of these grades will now take the Math ATLAS test on Tuesday, May 5th. These students will also take the Literacy ATLAS test on Wednesday & Thursday, May 6th & 7th.
