Please be reminded that promotion/retention letters regarding the Arkansas LEARNS Act and Grade 3 reading requirements were sent home with scholars last week. These letters contain important information regarding your child’s performance on the ATLAS ELA Summative Assessment, promotion requirements, possible retention status, good cause exemptions, literacy intervention supports, and the upcoming ATLAS ELA retake scheduled for June 2–3, 2026.

If you have not received your child’s letter, please contact the school office as soon as possible so we can provide another copy and discuss your child’s academic progress and support plan.

At Broadmoor Elementary, we remain committed to providing explicit and systematic literacy interventions to support every scholar’s reading growth and long-term academic success.

Parents, your support helps us continue strengthening our culture and uplifting those who serve our scholars with excellence Monday – “Message Monday” 💌 Have your scholar write a heartfelt note, card, or draw a picture for their teacher. A few kind words go a long way in building our culture of appreciation. Tuesday – “Treat Them Tuesday” 🍪 Send a small snack, drink, or favorite treat for your teacher. (Examples: chips, candy, coffee, or a baked good) Wednesday – “Wear Your Thanks Wednesday” 👕 Scholars can wear blue & orange or a shirt that shows appreciation for teachers. Let’s visually show our gratitude across the building! Thursday – “Thoughtful Gift Thursday” 🎁 Send a small gift or classroom supply. (Examples: pencils, markers, sticky notes, hand sanitizer, or a small gift card) Friday – “Final Thank You Friday” 🌟 Send one final note, email, or kind message to close out the week. Please check your scholar’s backpack and homework folder to review their progress. • 3rd Grade ATLAS EOY Preparation Updates: Final letters outlining our plan of support for Level 1 scholars were also sent home yesterday. It is critical that families read this information carefully and understand the urgency as we prepare for success on ATLAS. As we make our final push toward excellence, attendance is key. Being present, on time, and engaged each day makes a significant difference in student achievement. Additionally, as seasons change, we sometimes see shifts in behavior—please take time to have meaningful conversations with your scholars to keep them focused and ready for excellence. We are excited to invite our scholars to the Broadmoor Elementary 90’s Block Party School Dance on: 📅 Thursday, March 19, 2026 ⏰ 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM 📍 Broadmoor Elementary 🎟 Tickets are $5 and concessions will be sold. Scholars are encouraged to dress in their favorite 90’s attire and come ready to enjoy an evening of music, dancing, and fun with their Broadmoor family! Concessions will be available for purchase. Please ensure that all scholars are picked up promptly at 7:45 PM. This will be a safe, structured, and exciting event for our Cubs as we continue building a positive school culture through engaging activities. Today Broadmoor Elementary School was proud to host the Books & Barbers community initiative, founded by Nikita Richardson-Lowe, Founder of RichKrew Inc. ✂️📚

Under the leadership of Principal Tim Scott and Assistant Principal Teresa Farver, students received free haircuts while also selecting books to take home, promoting both confidence and literacy.

This year marks the 5th year of the Books & Barbers initiative, which continues to positively impact students across Pine Bluff by bringing together barbers, volunteers, and community partners who are committed to supporting our youth.

Thank you to Nikita Richardson-Lowe, RichKrew Inc., the participating barbers, volunteers, and community partners who helped make today a meaningful experience for our Broadmoor students.
