Learning begins at 8:00 a.m. In the case of rain activities will be moved indoors. Exciting Days Are Ahead at Broadmoor! 💙🧡🐻 The Broadmoor Bears are moving from Vision to Victory with a calendar filled with school spirit, learning, kindness, and fun! 🤠 September 25 – “9 to 5” Day In honor of Dolly Parton and the iconic “9 to 5,” scholars may wear denim, boots, plaid, western attire, or rhinestones. All attire must follow the school dress code. 🖤💛 October 2 – UAPB Outdoor Learning Experience & Letter Grade Celebration Beginning at 9:00 a.m., scholars will enjoy outdoor learning, special guests, and the amazing sounds of the UAPB Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South! Scholars are encouraged to wear UAPB attire or black and gold. 🍂 October Spirit Month Throughout October, scholars may participate in themed days celebrating Broadmoor pride, Homecoming, Breast Cancer Awareness, Red Ribbon Week, and fall fun. Participation is optional, and no special purchases are necessary—families may use items they already own. 🍬 October 28 – Fall Treat Trail Beginning at 1:15 p.m., eligible scholars will enjoy fall treats, decorated halls, school spirit, and fun! Families who are able may donate one bag of unopened, individually wrapped, nut-free treats. Scholar eligibility is based on positive behavior and genuine effort not a particular test score. We have just a few important reminders for our families: ❤️ “Best of Our Love” Parent Night – Capturing Kids’ Hearts Edition Join us Tuesday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m. for an evening of engagement, connection, and learning! We will discuss the importance of scholars being present, on time, and ready to learn every day, as well as ways families can support success at home. 📚 Homework Folders Homework folders were sent home Monday and include important information about your scholar’s learning and upcoming school events. Please review these folders regularly. All homework instructional assignments are due every Friday. Homework provides valuable additional practice and reinforces the skills scholars are learning in the classroom. Your support in ensuring assignments are completed is essential to continued academic growth. ⏰ Attendance Matters! Every minute matters! Scholars should be present, on time, and ready for learning each and every day for the full instructional day. Consistent attendance is an important part of academic success. Broadmoor Family, What an amazing kickoff to the first day of school! Our scholars were present, ready, and engaged for learning, and we appreciate your partnership in helping make today a success. As we settle into the new school year, we need your assistance with a few important reminders: • Bus Transportation: If your scholar is a bus rider, they must ride the bus to school in the morning in order to ride the bus home in the afternoon. • Dismissal: Dismissal begins promptly at 3:15 p.m. Please make every effort to pick up your scholar by 3:30 p.m. • Early Checkouts: Please help us avoid establishing a pattern of early checkouts. Leaving school early results in lost instructional time and can negatively impact student learning and academic achievement. • Required Forms: Please return all required forms, including the Parent Compact, Student Information Sheet, and Technology Agreement. Scholars will not be permitted to use school technology until the Technology Agreement has been received. Finally, thank you for ensuring your scholar was present, ready, and prepared for a successful first day of school.
