The Pine Bluff School District is committed to following all state laws, including Act 573 of 2025, which requires each public-school classroom and library to prominently display “a durable poster or framed copy of a historical representation of the Ten Commandments” that is at least 16 by 20 inches in size and easy to read from anywhere in the room.

Thanks to the generosity of a local faith-based community partner, our district has received donated Ten Commandments displays that fully meet the requirements outlined in Act 573. Their support means we can comply with the law without using district funds.

As we implement this new requirement, we will do so in a way that follows both state and federal law and continues to respect the diverse beliefs of our students, staff, and families. Our vision remains the same: to provide a student-centered community that is a safe, supportive, high-quality education for every child in Pine Bluff.

Celebrating Growth Through Partnership!

Thanks to the powerful partnership between Pine Bluff High School and the University of Arkansas, we’re proud to announce that PBHS is now an official Impact Fellowship School—and even prouder to celebrate one of our very own!

Denesha Evans, College & Career Coach in Pine Bluff School District, has been selected to join Cohort 10 of the Impact Program through the University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions. She is now pursuing her Master’s in Educational Leadership, continuing to grow as a leader right here where she serves and inspires students every day.

Through initiatives like the Impact Program and WE CARE (Wellness and Education Commitment to Arkansas Excellence), the University of Arkansas is helping shape the future of Arkansas education—and Denesha is living proof of that impact.

We are beyond proud of her journey and what it represents for our students, our schools, and the future of education in Pine Bluff.

Congratulations to our teachers who met the criteria and earned Merit Pay. The LEARNS Act created the merit program to elevate the teaching profession and reward excellent teachers. Awards are given to licensed educators who demonstrate outstanding growth in student performance, serve as a mentor to aspiring teachers who participated in yearlong residencies, or are employed in a shortage area.
