📚✨ Our district's Librarian PLC recently had the pleasure of attending—and hosting—this quarter’s JobAlike library meeting at the SEARK Coop. Collaboration and creativity were on full display! Led by 34th Elementary librarian Wendy Camarillo, the team engaged in hands-on activities focused on creating and sharing practical programming tools that can be easily implemented back on our campuses. Special thanks to Elizabeth Wall(Southwood Elem.), Connie Jackson (Pine Bluff Jr. High), and Larissa Davis (Pine Bluff Sr. High) for helping facilitate a successful and energizing session—Pine Bluff School District librarians are connected, innovative, and always leading the way for literacy and learning.

Pine Bluff High School is proud to announce that Chanya Burnley was selected to represent PBHS at the JAG National Career Development Conference (NCDC) in Washington, D.C. Chanya joined the Arkansas Delegation for an unforgettable week of leadership development, career exploration, and national networking.
During their time in the nation’s capital, Chanya and her fellow delegates had the special opportunity to visit the U.S. Capitol and meet with Congressman Bruce Westerman and Congressman Steve Womack. Both congressmen shared encouraging words about the critical role Career and Technical Education (CTE) plays in preparing students for real-world success. Delegates also had the chance to express what the JAG Advantage means to them—highlighting how the program has shaped their confidence, goals, and future pathways.
The trip also included leadership sessions, meaningful discussions with peers from across the country, and tours of the Capitol along with several historic national monuments. It was a powerful week that broadened perspectives and strengthened skills that students will carry forward into their careers.
Chanya was accompanied by her JAG Specialist, Mr. Calvin Thomas, who continues to support and champion PBHS students as they grow into strong leaders.
We are incredibly proud of Chanya’s representation, her professionalism, and the way she showcased the excellence of Pine Bluff High School on a national stage.

This past weekend, four of our Pine Bluff High School JAG students — Haley Price, Chanya Burnley, Melvin Henderson, and Lamarcus Morris — attended the Key Leader by Kiwanis event in Hot Springs!
Key Leader helps students grow as caring, confident leaders through fun team-building activities, group discussions, and personal reflection. Our scholars, guided by JAG Specialist Calvin Thomas, learned the power of Service Leadership and how to make a positive impact in their school and community.
A huge thank you to Mr. John Goss, District Director, and our local Kiwanis Club for sponsoring our students and making this amazing experience possible!
