We are extremely proud of our students! They represented Pine Bluff Ninth Grade Academy and our FCCLA chapter with excellence, respect, and pride throughout the entire experience. We are excited to see them bring the leadership skills they learned back to our school and use them to help our FCCLA Chapter continue to grow.

Hello PBSD Families and Community,
Yesterday, I shared a letter with our Pine Bluff School District community regarding our state school letter grades. The graphic below provides additional context and a clearer picture of the progress taking place across our schools.
When I began my tenure with the district, one school was rated a D and all other schools were rated F’s. At that time, a district-level letter grade had not yet been established. Today, we are seeing measurable growth across our schools. While there is still significant work to do, it is important to acknowledge both where we started and the progress that has been made.
Our focus remains clear: accelerating learning for students who are on grade level while providing targeted intervention and support for students who need it. We will continue to use data to inform our decisions, support our educators, and hold ourselves accountable for results.
We are not satisfied with where we are, but we are encouraged by the progress and committed to where we are going. A Champion for Every Child.
A Message from Interim Superintendent Phillip Carlock:
The Pine Bluff School District has received its latest school performance scores and letter grades. We believe our community deserves both transparency about where we are and a clear understanding of where we are headed.
Our results include:
34th Elementary: 293.43 — F
Southwood Elementary: 343.45 — D
Pine Bluff Jr. High: 309.68 — F
James Matthews Elementary: 350.02 — D
Broadmoor Elementary: 414.69 — C
Pine Bluff High School: 330.10 — F
Several schools increased their performance scores, with Broadmoor Elementary showing a significant increase of more than 105 points and moving from an F to a C. Pine Bluff High School, 34th Elementary, Pine Bluff Jr. High, and James Matthews Elementary also increased their scores. Southwood experienced a decline and will require focused attention.
We recognize that several of our schools remain below where we want them to be. We will celebrate progress, acknowledge areas of concern, and remain accountable for improvement.
These results are not the finish line. Instead, it is information that will help guide our work. Our focus remains on strong instruction, early intervention, effective leadership, collaboration, and ensuring that every student receives the support necessary to succeed.
I am grateful to our students, teachers, administrators, families, and community partners who continue to invest in the success of Pine Bluff students.
We have work to do, and we will do it together.
