The Pine Bluff School District’s 2016 “Kids Can Care” campaign will begin on November 1, and continue through November 11. Students are encouraged to participate by filling jars at their schools, with change.

The Pine Bluff School District’ s employee “United Way Drive,” in support of the United Way of Southeast Arkansas is scheduled for November 7-11. The primary goal is, For every person to have the right kind of opportunity to understand and decide. This is a tremendous opportunity for each of us to give back to the community through programs that support and shelter the children of Jefferson County.

United Way of Southeast Arkansas is a strong supporter of public school programs including Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS). This single program provides thousands of volunteer hours to support the public school classroom. I commend all of the employees of the Pine Bluff School District for the impressive record of total United Way contributions over the past 10 years:

2006 – $23,469.84; 2007 – $24,802.05; 2008 – $22,406.14; 2009 – $20,802.74; 2010 – $19,165.59; 2011 – $17,589.10; 2012 – $18,487.83; 2013 – $18,312.25; 2014 – $16,869.96; 2015 – $25,050.17

Let’s continue to show the community our leadership in caring for others. Please join me in supporting the United Way. I sincerely thank you for participating in this valuable program that does so much for children and families in our community.
